Canon Point: The comic book X-Men # 2
History (250 words minimum): Bobby Drake was born to parents who were an average middle class pair. At a young age, he gained a little brother, who he helped raised. He loved his family, and thought they didn't show it, he thought they loved him too. This came to an end when his powers manifested at age 13. He was cast out of his home, his entire family turning their backs on him, and was nearly burned to death before being rescued by the X-Men. There, among three other boys and one girl, he found a real family, people like him who cared about him, trusted him, and who stood by him no matter what.
Entering the X-Men has given him confidence and control of himself, and he started training to become one of them. With Professor Xavier's help, he started learning that his mind was very good at business and math, and with Henry McCoy's help, he learned that he had a penchant for humor. With the assistance of Scott, he learned he could fight, and do so well, his snow and ice wielding powers allowing him to enhance his movements in battle. Jean, the first non-male friend he ever had, has helped him find his inner peace with how his family treated him, as her own family was less than happy about her mutant status.
Over the last 5 years, he has fought both human and mutant bad guys, not to mention time travelers, aliens, and an alternate universe evil version of himself. He has traveled to Asgard, earned the enmity of Loki, and managed to win a kiss from a Valkyrie. All in all, it has been a good few years to be Bobby.
Personality: Bobby Drake is a man who has spent most of his young life playing jokes, poking fun, and making light of situations as bad things happened. He plays the fool, and he knows how people look down on him, and it makes him feel bad, but he has a plan, nonetheless. Formed early on, with some help from Iron First and Doctor Strange, Bobby designated himself the distraction, drawing on something he is very good at; making people laugh.
When people were listening to his jokes, laughing at him, or groaning at his 'silliness and stupidity', they weren't being traumatized, horrified, and stressed out by the honestly terrible state of their world. Bobby goes into life and situations willing and able to sacrifice his own state of look for others, over and over. This is because he is a hero, willing and ready to sacrifice himself for others. These days, he is growing a little more serious, and a little more ready for the world, as he faces the idea of maybe leaving the X-Men someday.
He has a worry that no one will ever like him, and a fear that he really is just incompetent, but he is also very ready to joke and forget reality whenever he can. Bobby is used to a life of excitement and danger, and he will find that with this new place, he will have to make his own excitement. God help those around him...
Appearance: Bobby is slim, brownish-blonde, with bright blue eyes, bright white skin, and hair that refuses to stay in one shape.
Likes: He likes jokes, fun, loud music, powers, ice, swimming, star wars, and robots
Dislikes: He hates bigots, of any kind, dislikes country music, hot days, and people who want to hurt others, also, broccoli.
Strengths: His Ice-Powers, the ability to manipulate temperature and liquid and form ice as well as other tricks, a sure-fire skill with math and business, and a bounciness.
Weaknesses: Rushing in too quickly, joking too much, low self-esteem.
Any special facts/special abilities/anything else we should know about your character? The ability to control temperature and moisture in the air around him. Currently manifested as the ability to create snow, ice, and ice constructs, create an ice slide, and create an outer ice skin around him. Unknown to him, he has a secondary mutation that will allow him to becoming living moisture, and change shape, travel via water, and do far more with ice and water.
What is arriving with your character His X-Uniform, clutched in one hand, boxers, and socks, which never came off.
